NAME
tidy.conf
- tidy(8)
configuration file
DESCRIPTION
The
tidy.conf
file is the configuration file for the
tidy(8)
program.
It controls the default action of
tidy
The
tidy.conf
file is usually located in
/var/adm
or
/etc
Be sure to edit the
tidy
perl script and specify the complete path to your default
tidy.conf
You may tell
tidy
to use other configuration files via the
-C
command line option. You may override almost all settings in
the configuration file by command line options. See
tidy(8).
The
tidy.conf
file is heavily commented, so that you are guided through the
configuration while editing
tidy.conf
There are some important rules: Do not delete the `if' and `unless'
statements! If you do so, you won't be able to use command line options.
The ASCII/HTML HEADERs/TRAILERs are
eval uated
by perl, so be sure to escape `$' and `\'. Most of the action of
tidy
is determined by
regular expressions
Have a look at the defaults and change them to suit your needs. If you
do not understand them, refer to the
perlre(1)
manual page.
